Supported Accommodation & the NDIS
Accessing supported accommodation on the NDIS falls under two categories – Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA). Depending on your individual needs you might have one or both types of funding in your NDIS plan.
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is a support to help you live in your home. It includes assistance with daily tasks, like personal care or cooking meals and helps you live as independently as possible, while building your skills.
Specialist disability accommodation (SDA) is designed for people with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs. SDA homes have accessible features to help you live more independently and allow other supports to be delivered better or more safely.
Questions about funding? We’re happy to help! We have support coordinators, an occupational therapist and a business clinician on our team who can assist you.
